Patient Accounts Representative We are seeking a Patient Accounts Representative to join our team! Rocking Horse Community Health Center (RHCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides healthcare services to some of the area's most vulnerable populations. The organization is looking for an individual to join the team in our patient invoicing and insurance billing department. This individual will be responsible for the collection of payments for services provided to patients. Performs necessary coding edits to claims, processes EDI files and uploads electronic claims to the clearinghouse. Contact patients regarding outstanding balances and assist in establishing budget plans to assist outstanding patient balances. Posts payments received from insurance and patients. Qualifications Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and or Experience: High School Diploma and preferably three to six month's related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 1. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 2. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs. 3. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to consistently carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 4. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounts Receivable software, spreadsheet software and Word processing software. 5. Certificates, Licenses, Registration: A current driver's license and an acceptable driving record. An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for this position. 6. Ability to consistently follow instructions, both verbal and written, as well as established policies and procedures. 9. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to fingers, handle or feel and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 10. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The position involves regular interaction with patients and other members of the general public. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasional exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, may occur. Schedule is dependent upon organization needs, and may include evenings and weekends. May be sent home if demand is low, or be requested to work overtime when demand is high.
