While youll need a solid HR foundation (compliance, employee relations, performance, talent), you should also speak the language of business and understand how HR impacts revenue, productivity, and company culture.Please note: this position will ramp up gradually as we continue to grow our client base. While hours will increase over time, this is a part-time position offering up to a maximum of 3035 hours per week. This is a work from home role, but there are approximately 25% onsite client visits required, weekly, so you must live in New Jersey or New York.As an HR Manager at Monarch, youll be a trusted partner to our clients, helping them streamline processes, scale for growth, and build thriving workplaces. Youll wear multiple hats, from recruitment and onboarding to payroll and compliance, all while providing high-touch, personalized HR support.Why Youll Love This Role:Youll be the go-to HR partner for multiple businesses, guiding leaders and teams to better performance and culture.Youll handle a wide variety of workfrom recruitment and onboarding to compliance, payroll, and performance management.Youll work in a collaborative, supportive team that values people as much as process.Youll have flexibility, meaningful work, and the chance to directly impact client success.What Youll Do:Strategic How You Think:Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, aligning HR initiatives with business goals to proactively support growth.Build strong relationships at all levels, providing thoughtful guidance and influencing outcomes without escalating every issue.Spot patterns and anticipate challenges for example, if turnover trends emerge, you investigate root causes and propose solutions rather than waiting for direction.Speak the language of business, connecting HR strategies to revenue, productivity, and culture.Balance compliance and people-first thinking to create a thriving workplace for every client.Tactical - How You Deliver Results:Recruitment & Onboarding: Partner with Monarchs internal experts to execute the full recruitment cycle, craft compelling job descriptions, and ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences.Employee Relations: Handle coaching plans, performance conversations, and workplace issue resolution with professionalism and empathy.Payroll & Benefits: Administer payroll changes, manage benefits, handle garnishments/tax levies, and research discrepancies to keep processes accurate and compliant.Compliance & Training: Send and track compliance training, update policies/handbooks, and maintain adherence to federal, state, and local laws.HR Operations: Keep SOPs, employee files, and HR systems (like Gusto or BambooHR) accurate, organized, and up-to-date; generate HR and payroll reports as needed.Compensation Support: Support compensation strategy, and ad hoc market pricing, when needed.What Makes You a Great Fit5+ years of HR experience (HRBP, HR Generalist/Manager, or similar).Experience supporting multiple business units or as an HR consultant highly preferred!Payroll expertise is a huge plus (FPC or CPP certification preferred).Experience with ADP, Workday, Paychex, or UKG preferredBilingual (Spanish/English) is a plusStrong communicatoryou over-communicate rather than under-communicate.Love solving complex HR/payroll challenges with a proactive mindset.Detail-obsessed, highly organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced, remote setting.Experience with HRIS systems like Gusto, BambooHR, etc. would be great!Passionate about Inclusion and Belonging in the workplace.Perks & BenefitsDepending on experience, salary range is between $35/hour ($72,800) - $45/hour ($93,600)PTO: Up to 20 hrs/year (part-time); Unlimited PTO if full-time.Paid holidays & sick timewe value your well-being.Medical, dental, and vision insurance for the employee plus 1 dependentHybrid Workwork from anywhere that has a strong Wi-Fi connection in NJ.
