Director of Credit Location: Onsite Industry: Food Product Distribution Employment Type: Full-Time Our client, a leading Food Product Distributor, is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Credit to oversee and elevate their credit operations. This is a key leadership role for a dynamic professional who can balance risk management with business growth while guiding a high‑performing credit team. Responsibilities of the Director of Credit Develop and execute comprehensive credit strategies that support business objectives and responsible growth. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled credit professionals. Implement, refine, and enforce credit policies and procedures across the organization. Analyze credit data, customer financials, and market trends to inform sound credit decisions. Track credit performance metrics, identify areas of concern, and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Sales, Finance, and Operations—to ensure smooth and efficient credit processes. Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners such as customers, financial institutions, and vendors. Preferred Qualifications of the Director of Credit Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. 10+ years of leadership experience in credit management. Strong knowledge of credit risk management, underwriting principles, and credit policy execution. Proficiency in financial analysis, credit scoring models, and evaluating customer creditworthiness. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. Experience with fintech tools or digital credit platforms is a plus. Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements.
