Senior Project Controls Manager The duties of the Senior Project Controls Manager are generally described as coordinating and directing project controls teams on assigned projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities: Develop and implement project controls. Establish and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation. Implement and monitor cost control and performance measurement methodologies. Develop and manage change control procedures. Supervise and mentor project controls staff. Coordinate work with other project team members and stakeholders. Strong organization skills, the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines. Prepare and present project performance reports (cost, schedule, and quality). Analyze project data to identify trends, issues, and potential risks. Provide recommendations for corrective actions. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Maintain risk registers and track risk mitigation plans. Review and manage contracts, including change orders, invoices, and payments. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project controls effectiveness. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and technologies. Ability to liaise and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Communicate project status and performance effectively. Qualifications Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent with 15+ years or more of experience will also qualify and be considered for this role. Experience/Specific Knowledge: This position requires 15 more years of relevant industrial experience in project controls, cost controls, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, and project management. Capacity to work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices. Extreme attention to detail. Proven ability to manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities in multiple offices of the company. A proven ability to manage multi-office project execution. Sound, ethical business judgment. Ability to recognize and promote talent. Ability to recognize and rectify teammate issues. Ability to create a high-performance team in attitude and accomplishment. Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines. Ability to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations. Understanding of existing and potential customer deliverable expectations and preferences. Record of achieving objectives; successful project completion, within budget and time frame. Ability to delegate authority appropriately. Ability to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members and to structure accountability. Ability to set priorities. Demonstrated leadership ability with team orientation. Assessment of personnel in interviews and through performance. Coaching and mentoring skills and experience. Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent presentation skills. Excellent leadership and organizational skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera and other technology tools. Embraces technology and leads technological changes. Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts. Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables. Ability to develop a construction cost estimate, a detailed engineering schedule and a man-hour budget for a small project or an area for a larger project. Ability to determine construction material quantities. Experienced in estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work. Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks. Ability to lead teams to deliver on commitments. Certifications, Licenses & Registrations: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel). Working Conditions: Travel to field locations may be required but is estimated to be less than 10% of time. Department members will have a heavy workload, with unplanned overtime and changes in work priorities; multiple projects with short turnaround time are common. May be required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours. The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including a credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
