Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLong term 12 month contract opening with option to hire. Onsite everyday M-F in San Antonio, TX.We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead with deep expertise in Python , AWS services , and experience with data capture , transmissions , and FTP-based workflows. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in leading technical projects, building robust cloud solutions, and mentoring a team of developers. This position is available as a contract-to-hire or long-term contract opportunity, offering flexibility and the potential for long-term engagement.Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of backend systems using Python and AWS.Build and manage data ingestion pipelines, including FTP-based data transmissions and capture mechanisms.Ensure the reliability and efficiency of file transmission systems and other ETL workflows.Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud applications.Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Guide and mentor engineering team members in code quality, architecture, and development practices.Implement and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools.Proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements. Required Qualifications 6+ years of professional experience in software development.3+ years of technical leadership experience.Expert-level proficiency in Python and its frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django).Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including:EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM, API GatewaySolid experience with FTP protocols , file-based data transmissions, and data capture workflows.Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud orchestration (ECS, EKS).Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).Strong communication and team leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in event-driven or serverless architectures.Background in working with sensitive or regulated data.AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).Experience in a DevOps or full-stack environment.Knowledge of scripting or tools to automate data ingestion and transformation processes.
