Over the Road Truck Driver

Job Title To deliver a quality load or product either to or from Apache in a safe and efficient manner. Duties And Responsibilities 1. Operate tractor/trailer in accordance with all state and federal regulations. 2. Operate tractor/trailer under all policies and procedures as set by Apache. 3. Checks and maintains an adequate amount of lubricants, coolants, and fuel are in the tractor/trailer to assure efficient operation, prevent damage or cause delays. 4. Assures that all loads carried by this tractor/trailer do not exceed its maximum rated capacity or license capacity. 5. Order oversize permits as needed. 6. Make any repairs that are in his/her capacity. 7. Maintain all trucks and trailers in the fleet with proper inspections and if needed by others have it arranged. 8. Use extra care when hauling an oversized load. 9. When on the road, maintain a positive company attitude and look out for the companies and your best interest. 10. When on the road, phone in at least once per day to inform supervisor about the trip. 11. Count/inspect material prior to signing Bill of Lading. 12. Fill gas bottles and clean yard as directed by supervisor. 13. Be willing to drive any other vehicle in the fleet. 14. Assist supervisor in any task as required. 15. Record monthly mileage and submit to accounts payable. 16. Make a daily maintenance inspection of tractor/trailer. Fill out the Daily Operators report and report any problems to the Purchasing Manager immediately. 17. Maintain all truck records, I.F.T.A. licenses, fuel permits, etc. 18. Complete accident report as applicable. 19. Maintain accurate expense voucher and submit it in a timely fashion. 20. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Two years over-the-road experience. Current Wisconsin commercial Driver's license.
