Summer Internship Opportunity - May through AugustPosition Summary This role will support daily HR department activities and assist in coordinating HR policies, processes, loading and organizing e-learning content and relevant documents. Key Responsibilities Provides clerical and administrative support by entering, formatting, and printing information; organizing work; answering the telephone; relaying messages; and maintaining equipment and supplies. Assists with day-to-day operations of the HR and Training functions and duties. Assists with administering Visual Acuity Assessments. Assists with maintaining employee Personnel and HIPPA files. Assists with initial upload of employee checklist and other e-learning content. Assists with tracking employee progress within onboarding program (objectives completed in 1st Month). Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping HR information confidential. Assist with maintaining training records, licenses, and certifications. Maintains quality service by following organization standards. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Assist with HRIS data entry. Assists the manager with HR projects. Assists with handling employment application intake. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations related to employment. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management. Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives. Other duties may be assigned. Job Requirements/Qualifications High school diploma or GED Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources or Business 2+ years of business courses Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and must have sufficient Excel experience -OR- An acceptable combination of education and experience Functional & Cognitive Requirements of Position This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 20 pounds. Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs. Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending. Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities. This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions. Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
