Position Summary The Benefits & Payroll Specialist supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll and the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs. This role serves as a key resource for team members, providing guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with company policy and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-focused, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment. Duties and Responsibilities Payroll Support Assist in the preparation and processing of semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls for all employee groups, including flight crews, maintenance, and administrative staff. Review payroll data for accuracy, including time records, pay adjustments, reimbursements, and per diem. Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner. Support payroll reporting needs for accounting and finance. Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour requirements. Benefits Administration Support day-to-day benefits operations including enrollments, terminations, qualifying life events, and status changes. Assist employees with benefit questions and provide clear explanations of available programs. Coordinate with benefit vendors to resolve eligibility or claim issues. Support open enrollment activities, communications, and system updates. Maintain accurate benefits records and documentation. Compliance & Administration Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information. Support required reporting and documentation for payroll taxes, retirement plans, and health and welfare programs. Assist with audits, reconciliations, and internal reviews. Contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy and service delivery. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in payroll, benefits, or HR administration. Understanding of basic payroll practices and benefit administration. Strong customer service mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to pass applicable background and pre-employment screenings.
