Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity:RN - Med Surg Job Details:• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement• Team assignment model rather than individual patient assignments• 25-bed critical access hospital in rural location serving mostly geriatric population• 2 years of nursing experience required• ER experience preferred with understanding of dementia, stroke, skin care, and geriatric patient care• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)• Preferred certifications: PALS and TNCC• Work with EPIC electronic medical record system• May be floated to ER based on experience (first to float)• 3 shifts of department-specific orientation provided• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available• Holiday requirement on alternating schedule• No call or standby requirements• Scrubs required with no specific color requirement• Common patient types include general rehab post-surgery and geriatric population• Charge nurse present on each shift who also takes team assignment• Nurse aides/CNAs available on each shift• Telemonitor capacity available but no requirement to read strips• Patient-managed CPAP equipment only, no ventilator management required Facility:This critical access hospital serves as an essential healthcare resource for the rural community, providing acute care services with a focus on geriatric and post-surgical rehabilitation patients.
