Job specification Candidate requirements Job specification Provide leadership and direction to the PCU nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols for the PCU, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. Conduct regular rounds to assess patient care needs, address concerns, and identify opportunities for improvement. Oversee staff scheduling, assignments, and staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient-staff ratios. Provide mentorship, coaching, and ongoing education to nursing staff to promote professional growth and development. Participate in performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and recruitment efforts for PCU nursing staff. Manage budgetary and resource allocation for the PCU, including equipment, supplies, and staffing expenses. Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, administration, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate communication and collaboration. Monitor and analyze PCU performance metrics, such as patient outcomes, satisfaction scores, and staff productivity, and implement initiatives to achieve performance goals. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, safety standards, and quality improvement initiatives within the PCU. Candidate requirements Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive nursing experience, including previous leadership or management experience in a PCU or similar acute care setting. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and healthcare best practices.
