Lab Technologist - Saint Francis Hospital, Hartford - Join Our Lab Team!40 hours, Night ShiftSaint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a talented Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic, mission-driven team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in delivering high-quality patient care by performing high-complexity testing in a fast-paced hospital laboratory. Please attach a resume.What you will do: Demonstrates technical competency by performance of moderate and high complexity tests using a variety of laboratory techniques. with acceptable accuracy and precision. Develops and demonstrates knowledge and skills pertaining to instrumentation, procedures, and processes. Performs maintenance according to scheduled frequency with complete documentation. Accurately analyzes patient specimens on instruments and/or by specified manual methodologies within specified turnaround times. Identifies problems with instrumentation, methodology, specimens, supplies, or results and take action as outlined in established protocols. Participates in continuing education program, as needed. Position Hours: 40 hours, Night Shift, rotating wknds/holidays Minimum Qualifications : Bachelors degree in a chemical, physical or biological science. Foreign graduates require degree equivalency evaluation documentation. Lab experience preferred, but not required. Categorical certification required after two (2) years. Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with patients and other members of the health care team. Hearing acuity to be able to communicate with others using the telephone and be able to monitor the many sounds produced by clinical instrumentation. Analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses and summarizing the information and data in order to interpret and report results. Must possess sufficient motor skills to perform delicate tasks such as calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments, perform precise sample procedures, pipetting of samples and use of computer workstations.
