This role may be filled at the O&M Tech level I, II, or III depending on the candidate's experience. Hourly rates range from $36.07 to $55.57 based on experience. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The Operations Technician is responsible for operating and troubleshooting equipment and systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations while maximizing the asset's value. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Operate, monitor, and maintain turbines, generators, pumps, scrubber plants, wastewater treatment plants, boilers, motors, combustion turbines, and associated auxiliary equipment. Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to manage work orders and spare parts inventory. Lead identification of equipment or system problems and recommend effective solutions. Perform predictive and preventive maintenance activities. Conduct electrical maintenance on generators, transformers, and MOVs. Troubleshoot plant equipment issues, including power and control circuits, heaters, motors, and transformers using electrical test instruments. Develop operating procedures for plant equipment to maintain consistency and ensure safety. Execute all work safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and housekeeping standards, following federal, state, and local guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. POSITION SCOPE The incumbent must communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Prior to fulfilling this role, the Technician must pass necessary testing and qualifications, while continuously enhancing their electrical blocking knowledge. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate's degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics, or a high school diploma with a minimum of 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology. Completion of training and time-in-job requirements, including passing the EEI TECH test. Electrical background is essential. Willingness to work rotating night/day shifts and overtime as needed. Effective oral and written communication skills. Basic computer proficiency. Understanding of power plant prints. Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle. Ability to work in a power plant environment that requires climbing and extended walking. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
