Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/23/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Rotating, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Mar 23, 2026 Length: 16 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Vascular Access Team (IV Therapy) position requiring strong IV skills, Epic proficiency, and Level 1 trauma experience. Details Vascular Access Team (IV Therapy) unit within an inpatient hospital setting 12-hour rotating day/night shifts — primarily days with flexibility to rotate to nights as needed; mid-week rotations are possible Every other weekend required Typically one week of nights followed by one week of days, with approximately 48 hours between rotations when possible Responsibilities include placing and troubleshooting peripheral IVs, assessing and managing PICC lines, accessing and flushing ports, performing dressing changes, and drawing blood as backup PICC line placement is not required but candidates with PICC placement certification should note this on their application Floating required to assist with PIV placement, PICC and port troubleshooting, and dressing changes throughout the facility Epic EMR — experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable 16-week assignment Requirements Active RN license — VT or compact license accepted; NY candidates may be considered with proof of a pending NY license Current BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or relevant specialty experience required Strong IV therapy skills required; AVA certification and PICC skills strongly preferred Level 1 trauma hospital experience within the past year is required Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required Prior travel nursing experience preferred Reliable personal transportation required — public transportation is not accessible in this area; all-season or snow tires recommended November through April Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Viable candidate backgrounds include ER RNs and infusion RNs Administer TPA as needed for PICC line management No block scheduling available for any reason Bi-weekly orientations begin on Mondays All employment gaps exceeding 90 days must be explained Complete work history including bed count, EMR, facility type, and trauma level is required for consideration American Traveler Job ID P-677492.
