Job SummaryThe Support Route Driver fills in on open or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.Hours and Wages Monday- Friday, 7:30AM- completion of route10-15 hours of overtime may be expected each weekVoluntary OT on weekends (as needed)Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per weekStarting wage: $20.00- $24.00 per hour, based on experience Duties and Responsibilities Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippersInspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicleLoad the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packagesCollect payments for certain packages deliveredVerify the content of pickups on shipping papersNotify management of any problems or discrepanciesMaintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicleTravel May be requiredPerform other related duties as assigned Skills and Abilities Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learnPossess good customer service and can work independently Education and Experience At least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredHold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards Physical Requirements Ability to pass a DOT physical examAbility to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicleAbility to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 poundsAbility to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals Benefits Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) Plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more.
