Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Works in an Operator capacity while providing leadership and support to assigned work cell members by creating a motivated, positive and productive environment to ensure safety, quality, and delivery standards are met. Ensures team members are working safely per Georg Fischer policies and procedures. Follows safety incident management and documentation processes. Ensures work products meet or exceed quality expectations. Provides input to and executes the production schedule to meet customer requirements including flowing resources and training development. Supervises the activities of team members assigned to his/her shift. Tracks and approves time and attendance for assigned team members as per policy. Escalates issues to management or technical resources per defined escalation plan. Administers disciplinary actions in conjunction with Human Resources to assigned team members. Facilitates and/or participates in established shift change over meetings with oncoming Production Lead (Tier 1). Completes and delivers annual Performance evaluations and established Management Business Objectives (MBOs). Completes established Leader Standard Work and ensures team members do the same. Trains new employees in equipment, processes, and document management. Leads and maintains 5S initiatives and standards. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability use micrometers, calipers and tape measures. Basic math skills. Education and Experience: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Associate's degree in a related field preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of manufacturing experience is preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Exposure to machine noise. Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production and warehouse area. Working conditions are normal for a high-volume manufacturing environment. Work may involve lifting materials and products up to 50 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots.
