Location: Jamaica, New York (JFK area) Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt Work Setting: 100% Onsite Compensation: Competitive (target range up to $72,500 annually) About the Role This Employee Relations Specialist role supports one of the organization's largest and most complex airport operations, with a predominantly frontline, hourly workforce across multiple business lines. This is a high-volume, hands-on HR role focused primarily on employee relations, investigations, and union interaction-not recruiting or benefits administration. What You'll Do Serve as the primary on-site HR point of contact for employee relations matters Support a large, high-volume workforce of approximately 1,400 employees across multiple locations Handle day-to-day employee relations issues, including: Employee-to-employee conflicts Time and attendance issues Performance and conduct concerns Coaching and disciplinary actions Conduct employee relations investigations by: Interviewing employees and witnesses Gathering and reviewing documentation Maintaining detailed notes and case records Partner closely with HR leadership on escalated or higher-risk employee relations matters Maintain working relationships with union representatives and support adherence to collective bargaining agreements Advise frontline leaders on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations best practices Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor agreements, and internal policies Maintain accurate administrative documentation and employee relations records Prepare reports and summaries related to employee relations activity Participate in meetings, audits, and special HR projects Recommend improvements to employee relations processes and HR practices Perform other duties as assigned in a fast-paced operational environment What You'll Bring Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in HR or Business preferred 2-4 years of HR experience with strong employee relations exposure Experience supporting large, hourly, frontline workforces (200+ employees strongly preferred) Hands-on experience conducting employee relations investigations Background in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, aviation, or similar blue-collar environments Union environment experience strongly preferred Strong documentation, note-taking, and administrative skills Ability to work independently in a high-volume, operational setting Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems Willingness and ability to work fully onsite at the JFK location What You'll Get Competitive base salary (target range up to $72,500 annually, based on experience) Comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) plan with company match Paid time off and paid holidays DailyPay access for early wage availability Wellness programs and employee assistance resources Employee discounts and perk programs Recognition and rewards platform Opportunities for internal mobility and career growth Exposure to a complex, high-impact HR environment with strong visibility
