Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered respiratory care in a setting that champions best practices and relationship-based care. Uphold professional respiratory care standards guided by the AARC Code of Ethics, regional respiratory care regulations, and evidence-based protocols. Demonstrate expertise in respiratory therapy assessments, treatment modalities, life support certifications, critical thinking, and prioritization. Education and Experience Graduate of a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program. Associate Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Licensure and Certifications Obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care within one year of hire and maintain active status. Hold an active Respiratory Care Provider license as required by regional health authorities. Key Responsibilities Assessment: Conduct comprehensive, age-specific assessments and reassessments, collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare providers to gather complete medical histories and document findings accurately. Diagnosis: Identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, infection control, environmental, and educational needs; prioritize care accordingly and prepare patient and family education plans. Planning and Outcomes: Work with healthcare teams to develop and revise individualized care and education plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes, incorporating patient and family input. Implementation: Deliver age-appropriate care using evidence-based interventions, coordinate access to community resources, and collaborate with caregivers to execute care plans. Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of respiratory interventions, patient responses, and educational outcomes, adjusting care plans as needed. This role requires flexibility and adaptability as duties and responsibilities may evolve over time. Work Shift Third shift, part-time (24 hours weekly). Location is within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest United States.
