Role Overview: The Application Development & Maintenance team plays a crucial role at Cardinal Health, overseeing the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This team is dedicated to creating innovative Information Technology solutions that support operations and enhance business value. As an engineer in Application Development & Maintenance, you will be responsible for configuring and coding to develop, enhance, and sustain software systems within a collaborative team environment, adhering to design control processes and engineering best practices. You will partner with business leaders to assess user needs and regularly maintain and enhance existing applications. Key Responsibilities: Analyze business requirements and design solutions for Legacy ERP (FACTS) in areas such as procurement, accounting, pricing, contracts, and supply chain. Develop, test, manage, and support Legacy ERP programs using Business Basic (BBx Pro5). Ensure adherence to established coding and testing standards, with a focus on enhancing existing protocols. Automate functional and regression testing processes. Align closely with strategic goals set by the segment and execute on prioritized objectives. Ensure IT Controls, SOX compliance, and address any audit findings on the FACTS platform. Account for KPIs and BPM metrics that support current and future business units. Facilitate integration with other applications, including EDI, CRM, and various cloud technologies. Collaborate with Business Analysts to create detailed process diagrams. Document current FACTS programs, high-level design documents, and implementation documents to meet standards. Stay abreast of the latest developments in Business Basic and proactively recommend improvements. Work alongside infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and stable operations. Serve as a key intermediary between Business Analysts and IT development teams to aid in design documentation. Define and refine business requirements and translate them into application requirements. Empower business units to successfully meet their operational and commercial objectives. Qualifications: Experience in an Agile environment, with familiarity in Agile tools such as JIRA. In-depth experience in developing ERP applications using Business Basic (BBx). Strong understanding of best practices in Business Basic (BBx) development. Proven experience in creating automated regression testing suites and test data generation solutions. Understanding of business processes related to ERP solutions. 8-10 years of Business Basic (BBx) development experience preferred. Experience with various database technologies including MySQL, MSSQL, and Postgres. Familiarity with Linux (RedHat) and cloud technologies (Google Cloud/AWS). Experience with SAP or legacy ERP migrations a plus. Strong grasp of IT and its relationship with business functions. A willingness to learn new applications and technologies.
