Event Coordinator Salary Range: $68,640.00 - $86,652.80 Salary Job Shift: Day Overview At Community Hospice & Health Services and its affiliates, Community Hospice & Health Services Foundation, and CHI Management, Inc. Job Description REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Community Hospice Foundation DEPARTMENT: Community Hospice & Health Services Foundation (CHHSF) SUMMARY: The Event Coordinator serves as the primary coordinator of CHHSF events and serves as support for all Friends of CHHSF events. The Event Coordinator must have the ability to handle confidential donor information appropriately; exercise good judgment in a variety of situations; possesses strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to efficiently handle multiple priorities and/or projects. This position also supports the CHHSF team to reach fundraising goals, engage donors, and works closely with vendors. The Event Coordinator must have the ability to work independently on projects and handle a variety of tasks. Responsibilities In collaboration with the Executive Director, leads and supervises the planning and execution of Friends of CHHSF and CHHSF fundraising events, including being the primary coordinator for the Annual Spring Event and other events assigned by the Executive Director. Assists the Executive Director with the collaboration and coordination of outside events. Supports the Executive Director and CHHSF staff with special projects and events as assigned by Executive Director. Oversees requests, inventory and distributions of product and experience donations. Maintains records of Gift in Kind donations. Follows all CHHSF and Community Hospice & Health Services policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, human resources and confidentiality. Other duties as assigned, including work in other areas to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods or otherwise meet the needs of the organization. Maintains a professional appearance of self and working area; exhibits appropriate behavior with donors, guests and clients, i.e., being courteous, thoughtful and professional at all times. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Three years' experience in working with fundraising, event planning, or managing large groups of volunteers in an organization is required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint,) and Adobe Acrobat Must be skilled in using technology platforms (i.e. electronic giving and auction platforms) Strong organizational skills Outstanding communication skills; i.e., telephone skills, writing and listening Excellent interpersonal skills Positive professional attitude with sensitivity to the nature of hospice Able to work in a team environment supporting other team members Possess valid California driver's license with automobile insurance and have reliable transportation available Success Factors Ability to consistently understand complex business functions; preparing clear, concise, and comprehensive reports and correspondence Ability to develop and maintain cooperative, constructive relationships with coworkers Ability to demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions Ability to follow through on projects and tasks Ability to maintain a professional appearance of self and a working area that is neat and organized. Ability to consistently respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary Ability to handle confidential information and disseminate appropriate information to coworkers and other departments Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously Work Environment This position generally works in an office environment using a computer and office equipment. This position can, on occasion, work outside in variable weather conditions with walking on uneven surfaces. Work Schedule Position to work a regularly scheduled 40-hour workweek (Monday through Friday), for eight hours per day (during regular business hours), with any extra time including evenings and weekends as needed to meet the needs of the organization. This is an exempt position.
