Armed Security Officer

Position Summary: This armed security role is under the guidance of the site manager for a high-profile location. As an Armed Security Officer, you will engage in a range of security-related tasks to ensure the safety and security of client property, visitors, and staff. You will monitor, observe, and report any activities or incidents at your assigned site. In emergency situations, you will be prepared to respond appropriately, up to armed intervention as necessary. You will help maintain order and enforce site regulations, managing access to the facility and preventing unauthorized entry. Essential Functions: Control access to the facility, screening visitors and employees efficiently to expedite entry while preventing unauthorized access and protecting physical assets. Respond effectively to emergency situations with appropriate escalation of force, maintaining proficiency in the use of defensive equipment and weapons. Foster a welcoming environment for clients and visitors through respectful and courteous interactions, ensuring their needs are met. Communicate openly and honestly while providing information about the site when requested. Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unapproved access, manage the movement of individuals and vehicles, and handle disturbances appropriately. Patrol the premises, checking for safety hazards and security violations, while inspecting buildings and grounds for any threats. Safeguard evidence at incident scenes during emergencies and collaboratively set up boundaries for incident management. Prepare and maintain accurate logs and reports as needed, documenting all activities and incidents clearly. Report suspicious activities and incidents to appropriate parties while responding to various emergencies following established protocols. Execute other tasks as required to maintain site security. Minimum Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship Preferred. Must be at least 21 years old. High School Diploma or G.E.D. A minimum of two years of armed security or law enforcement experience, or two years of honorable service in the U.S. Armed Forces. Background Requirements: You must undergo and comply with background checks, drug testing, and any physical examination requirements as necessary for the position. All licensing requirements must be met as mandated. Competencies: Ability to meet state licensing requirements for armed security and possess necessary qualifications for the use of weapons. Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR/AED) and First Aid from recognized organizations is required. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and staff. Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately. Demonstrated teamwork and resilience under pressure. Strong organizational skills with a focus on high-quality customer service. Capability to multitask effectively in various situations. Proficient in using computers and common software. Working Conditions: Physical and mental demands include: Maintaining composure while interacting with authorities and the public under pressure. Handling sensitive information responsibly. Responding to emergencies, which may involve physically engaging individuals and lifting up to 40 pounds. Working shifts that may include overtime with little notice. Frequent activity such as walking, standing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Starting Wage Range: $17.75 (starting trainee wage) in most states, with a higher rate in California at $26.00. Additional compensation may be applicable based on site requirements.
