To advance the Base Ecosystem, Coinbase Ventures is investing in the Base Ecosystem Fund, focusing on teams and projects that align with our mission to enhance global economic freedom and build the on-chain economy. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the entire investment lifecycle for Coinbase Ventures' Base Ecosystem Fund (BEF). Engage with the Base and broader crypto ecosystem, building meaningful relationships with founders, investors, and industry experts. Conduct comprehensive thematic research and data-driven analysis to inform investment choices and identify emerging trends within the Base ecosystem. Develop expertise in several verticals to guide both BEF investments and the broader Coinbase product strategy. Lead special initiatives to improve and optimize the operational capabilities of the Base Ecosystem Fund. Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years in an analytical business role (e.g., investment banking, management consulting, VC/PE) or a technical building role (e.g., product, engineering) in the crypto space. Strong passion for on-chain applications/platforms, backed by a solid background in the field. A results-driven mindset paired with humility and self-awareness. Proven understanding of the crypto landscape, along with well-formed perspectives and sound investment judgment. Exceptional writing skills to simplify complex topics into clear and accessible content. Outstanding organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. A talent for networking, building ecosystem relationships, and creating thought leadership materials. Experience working with startup management teams and cross-functional executives, including product, engineering, legal, and finance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience evaluating infrastructure or consumer/application layer products and business models (crypto or web2). Experience at a leading venture capital firm or a crypto-exclusive company. Investment experience is highly desirable. Data analysis or engineering experience, especially related to blockchains (e.g., familiarity with Dune and other blockchain data tools).
