Job Description Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on project specifications and plans. Analyze project requirements and collaborate with project managers to ensure alignment with budgets. Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals for accuracy and competitiveness. Maintain detailed records of all estimates, budgets, and project documentation. Participate in pre-construction meetings and provide valuable input on project planning. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend efficient solutions for project execution. Monitor and update project budgets throughout the project lifecycle. Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and market conditions. The Successful Applicant A successful Estimator should have: 4-10+ years of experience in estimating within the commercial construction industry; general contractor experience required. Proven ability to estimate projects ranging from $2M to $50M+ (adjustable based on your needs). Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and market pricing. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, Sage Estimating, PlanSwift, or similar). Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (but experience considered in place of degree).
