A leadership opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy on a contract basis in High Point, NC. This role focuses on managing an inpatient behavioral health pharmacy with a strong emphasis on compliance with Joint Commission standards. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of pharmacy management skills, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to patient care. Key Qualifications: Licensed pharmacist in North Carolina Experience in inpatient pharmacy operations and management Preferably background in behavioral health and Joint Commission requirements Familiarity with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation is desirable but not required; training is provided Responsibilities include overseeing pharmacy staffing and operations, dispensing medications, verifying technician work, managing inventory and budget, contributing to Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) and antimicrobial stewardship committees, and updating policies as needed. Ensuring timely medication delivery and maintaining adequate coverage Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, including light on-call duties, are essential. Weekend hours (8:00 am to 2:30 pm) may also be required if not covered by part-time staff. This position begins with a 4-5 day training and orientation period alongside the outgoing Director of Pharmacy starting February 25th. The contract covers through May 29th or until a permanent candidate is placed. The pharmacy team consists of two part-time pharmacists, one full-time technician, and three part-time technicians. Recent technology upgrades include the installation of Omnicell automation. Applicants local to the area are preferred; however, candidates willing to travel may need to discuss expense arrangements.
