Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers; escalate complex issues to appropriate leadership. Participate in employee relations meetings, including disciplinary discussions, investigations, and terminations. Manage state agency correspondence, including EDD and FTB notices. Maintain current knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements; regularly recommend updates to policies and procedures. Complete HR documentation such as write-ups, incident reports, injury reports, terminations, employment verifications, and onboarding paperwork. Serve as a resource for employees regarding payroll, PTO, benefits, and general HR policy questions. Maintain accurate, organized employee files and digital records. Payroll & HRIS Support Perform payroll data entry and validation on Workforce.com. Cross-check information across systems to ensure accuracy. Run reports and prepare payroll files for the finance team. Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Source, recruit, and screen qualified candidates for full-time roles. Partner with hiring managers to clarify required skills and competencies. Write job descriptions and manage postings on career platforms. Conduct initial candidate interviews, assess cultural fit, and discuss compensation ranges. Schedule and facilitate second-stage interviews with supervisors. Oversee candidate requirements including eligibility verification, reference checks, physicals, drug testing, MVR checks, and background screenings. Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for all new hires. Employee Appreciation & Culture-Building Administer employee recognition programs, including full-time longevity awards and part-time Employee of the Month. Coordinate birthday cards, office celebrations, team-building events, and morale initiatives with office managers. Field Communications & Employee Engagement Visit job sites and maintain regular communication with seasonal technicians to support engagement, retention, and feedback reporting. Serve as a liaison between field staff and office leadership. Internal Events & Administrative Support Assist with planning and executing internal company events, such as team lunches, celebrations, and holiday activities. Run occasional errands for management as needed. Schedule and coordinate internal and external video message recordings for the CEO. Assist in administering alarm codes, fuel codes, and keys for PCE OC and PCE SD. Maintain the office phone directory and annual holiday schedule. Provide internal reporting to upper management as required. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Requirements: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or a minimum of three years of professional HR experience. Willingness to adapt, support a fast-paced environment, and step into a temporary role with a smooth transition period. Familiarity with PCE software platforms preferred: Office 365, Workforce.com Working knowledge of EEOC guidelines and basic employment laws. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members across multiple departments. High level of motivation, strong planning abilities, and effective goal-setting skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Understanding of workplace safety principles and best practices. Proficiency with modern office procedures and general administrative workflows. Strong skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.). Exceptional prioritization, organization, professionalism, customer-service orientation, and tact. Ability to demonstrate leadership, accountability, and appreciation for team contributions.
