The analyst will support the Transportation & Drainage Operations in implementing process improvements, monitoring operational effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with operational regulations and policies.Responsibilities: Samsara Driving Application o Serve as TDO administrator and subject matter experto Reviewing users report monthly to add or remove userso Work with the Communication Specialist to develop monthly tips/tricks for distributiono Review various system reports to ensure safety adherenceso Develop improvement recommendations for driving behavior and gain buy-in.o Incorporate automated system notifications for vehicle incidents; search for trends/patternso Collaborate with vendor to effectively communicate concerns of the Service Line to ensure organizational needs are meeto Utilize new or available technologies to create internal dashboard Safety Meetings o Present safety data (focus on significant incidents and trend analysis) during bimonthly meetings (six times per year) and incorporating Samsara where applicableo Attend citywide safety meetings and notify management of any new developments Work Order Overdue Dashboard and Response o Analyze data presented on Work Order Overdue Dashboardo Review trends/patterns and suggest areas of improvemento Follow up with management in areas such as Average completion time, total past due and past due detailo Provide biweekly reports to management detailing citizen responses and explanations for pastdue items Operational Quality & Efficiency o Assist in the development of operational SOPs to document intuitional knowledge regarding procedures and processeso Improve customer service relations via assistance from TDO operational teams and optimizing TDO operational environmentso Creation of flow charts for documentation of workflow processeso Analyzing overtime data for OQE staff and other special projects as assignedWORKING CONDITIONSThis position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.This is a Houston Public Works position at the Tier III Level.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSRequires a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance or a field directly related to the job.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSFour years of professional experience in accounting, budget analysis, finance, public administration or a field directly related to the job are required.SubstitutionsExperience cannot be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.A Master’s degree in a field directly related to the job may substitute for two years of the above experience requirement.LICENSE REQUIREMENTSNonePREFERENCESPreference will be given to applicants with experience in the following: The ability to organize and prioritize assigned task Detail Oriented Innovative problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast paced environment Self-starter and committed to completing tasks timely).
