Job Summary: Provide patient- and family-centered respiratory care within a supportive environment that champions best practices and relationship-based care. Uphold professional respiratory care standards guided by ethical codes, state practice acts, and evidence-based protocols. Demonstrate expertise in respiratory therapy assessments, treatment modalities, life support certifications, critical thinking, and prioritization. Commit to ongoing professional development and educational growth. Essential Responsibilities: Assessment: Conduct thorough age-specific assessments and reassessments. Collaborate with family members, significant others, and healthcare providers to gather comprehensive medical histories. Document findings per unit policies. Diagnosis: Identify actual or potential physical, psychosocial, cultural, religious, safety, infection control, environmental, and educational needs. Prioritize patient care based on assessments. Interpret findings to prepare tailored patient and family education. Planning/Outcome: Work with healthcare team members to develop and revise individualized care and education plans aimed at optimal outcomes. Incorporate patient, family, and caregiver input into care adjustments. Implementation: Deliver age-appropriate care aligned with the plan of care and patient priorities. Apply evidence-based interventions and treatments specific to diagnoses. Utilize community resources to support care plans and coordinate access. Collaborate with caregivers to ensure cohesive care delivery. Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of respiratory interventions and patient responses relative to expected outcomes. Adjust care plans accordingly and evaluate patient and family education responses. Note: This description outlines primary duties but is not exhaustive. Responsibilities may evolve with or without notice. Education and Experience Required: Graduate of a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program. Associate Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Licensure and Certifications: Obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care within one year of hire and maintain active status. Hold active Respiratory Care Provider license from the state health professions bureau. Work Shift: Night shift, 6:00pm - 6:30am, part-time (24 hours weekly). Location: Serving the Midwest region of the United States.
