Position OverviewOur client has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary firm. This role focuses on supporting the design and development of HVAC and Plumbing building systems across a wide range of project types, including commercial, institutional, and government facilities.The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with licensed engineers, designers, and other disciplines to develop coordinated construction documents while building a strong technical foundation through mentorship and hands-on project experience. This position is ideal for an early-career engineer eager to learn, grow, and advance toward professional licensure.í‚ Key Responsibilities Assist in the design and layout of HVAC and plumbing systems under the direction of licensed engineers Perform engineering calculations, including heating and cooling loads, ventilation analysis, and equipment sizing Develop construction documents, including drawings, schedules, and details, using industry-standard software Assist with HVAC system design including air distribution, hydronic systems, and equipment selection Support plumbing system design including domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems Coordinate design efforts with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines Participate in internal design reviews and quality control processes Support project planning, scope development, and schedule adherence Assist with construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals Learn and apply applicable codes, standards, and best practices related to mechanical building systems Required Qualifications Bachelorí¢€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering 1í¢€“4 years of experience in HVAC design, plumbing design, or MEP consulting (additional experience may be considered) Fundamental understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Excel Strong communication skills Preferred Qualifications Engineer in Training (EIT) certification Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure Exposure to building codes and standards (IMC, ASHRAE, IPC) Experience with load calculation or energy analysis tools Internship or co-op experience in an A/E or MEP consulting environment Benefits Summary Excellent Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) with Company Match (up to 4%) Employer HSA Bi-Monthly Contribution Nine (9) Paid Holidays plus a Floating Holiday Office Closed Between Christmas and New Yearí¢€™s Generous Paid Time Off with Carry-Over (up to 40 hours) Paid Parental Leave (6 weeks primary caregiver / 2 weeks secondary caregiver) Quarterly Profit Sharing (when performance metrics are met) Half-Day Fridays Paid Surface Parking Gym Membership Stipend Community Volunteer Time Off Professional Organization Dues Paid Licensure and Continuing Education Fees Paid If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply or send your resume to to discuss this opportunity in greater detail, or you can call 678-802-6621.
