The Automation for Sovereign Cloud (ASC) team focuses on providing automated solutions specifically designed for Sovereign Realms. We apply Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) best practices to develop scalable, secure, and dependable solutions that bridge the gaps between various realms. We are currently seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to become a vital part of the ASC team within the Oracle Government Defense Intelligence (GDI) division. What You Will Do: Architect and Design: Lead the creation of microservices that facilitate distributed systems and data integration across multiple realms, driving operational excellence. Build Distributed Systems: Develop and maintain high-availability, scalable, and secure distributed systems that support real-time data processing. Coding: Write robust, secure, and maintainable code adhering to industry best practices, ensuring features are designed effectively. Data Pipeline Optimization: Create resilient data egress pipelines to enable seamless data flow across OCI realms. Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including data engineers and product managers to align technical solutions with business objectives. Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot bottlenecks, optimizing performance in distributed systems and data flows. Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in software engineering and cloud infrastructure. Operations: Serve as a trusted escalation point for operational events, leading analysis and resolution of complex issues. Innovation and Improvement: Stay current with industry trends to enhance our services continuously. Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship with TS/SCI eligibility required. BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related field. 4-8 years of experience in software development. Strong communication skills for conveying technical ideas effectively. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Rust. Deep understanding of CS fundamentals including data structures and algorithms. Experience in building new features in existing systems and actively improving engineering practices. Able to identify and remediate issues and lead root cause analysis efforts. Skills in developing metrics and dashboards for operational awareness. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in related engineering fields. Experience building on OCI and as a technical lead. Familiar with mission-critical cloud services infrastructure. Knowledge of Networking (OSI layers, TCP/IP, etc.) and Linux internals. Experience with host virtualization technologies.
