Details Pediatric ICU (PICU) setting at a children's hospital in San Antonio, TX Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM 13-week contract duration Full-time position Requirements Active RN license in TX or a compact state Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only) Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required Ventilator experience required BSN preferred Two professional references required for consideration Valid US Social Security Number required for consideration Additional Information Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of pediatric patients and their families Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided Assesses learning needs and delivers education to patients, families, and caregivers New hires are onboarded with a designated preceptor and must complete organizational and Pediatric Services-specific competency validations All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates Temp-to-perm conversion is possible American Traveler Job ID P-678495.
