Training & Communications Specialist Finance, Planning, and Budgeting (FPB) encompasses the major central financial, planning, and budgeting functions for the University of Washington, including: Financial Stewardship & Operations Institutional Data & Analysis Policy, Planning & State Operations University Business Services The role of a Training & Communications Specialist is crucial in supporting the development and execution of Payroll training activities. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Specialist will work on creating frameworks for training external Workday users/stakeholders using an online eLearning model. The Training & Communications Specialist will coordinate with customer support and technical application management teams and designated stakeholders to evaluate Workday training and resource needs for ongoing and emergent system changes. In addition, the Training & Communications Specialist will develop, define, update, and maintain timely and accurate training content specific to Workday business processes. The Training & Communications Specialist will also assess training requirements and needs based on assigned projects. Apart from these, the Training & Communications Specialist will assist with internal and external communications, website development, and work within the case management system. Duties & Responsibilities: Create, Update, and Maintain Training Content Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify areas for improvement in training content Develop, define, and maintain effective training materials, including frameworks for training external Workday users and stakeholders Ensure accuracy and validity of training content by working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of online training over time and make adjustments as needed Continuously improve training content to meet evolving business needs and ensure optimal learning outcomes Create, Update, and Maintain Web Content Develop, define, and maintain high-quality web content to meet the needs of the Payroll Office Create web-based tools that align with the guidelines of the Finance, Planning, and Budgeting organization Design and develop dependable web-based tools to support the Payroll Office Develop project timelines and milestones and communicate progress with the manager and team Report work progress against assigned stages and ensure timely completion of projects Payroll Services Support Assist in managing payroll knowledge by identifying and verifying new additions/changes to the existing knowledge repository Coordinate and ensure timely updates/changes to the Payroll Office, UW Connect with UWIT, as necessary Support communication efforts related to major payroll activities, system enhancements/updates, and known issues Foster engagement between the Payroll Office and the diverse UW campus community Work with a diverse group of individuals, placing a value on diversity, equity, and inclusiveness Administration Ensure training and cross-training across business processes and systems Other duties as assigned Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience Equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for a degree Demonstrated experience in the learning and development or training domains, preferably in a training specialist role Knowledge regarding training methodologies, best practices, and current trends in the industry Proficient in the use of eLearning tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and Camtasia Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including customers and key process stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on clarity and conciseness Experience using a proactive, continual service improvement/iterative approach to meet Payroll process design requirements, assimilating stakeholder feedback, and refining operational frameworks on an ongoing basis Desired: Working experience designing, executing and/or managing relevant HR/Payroll system training at the University of Washington or in a comparable higher education environment Compensation, Benefits and Position Details Pay Range Minimum: $69,720.00 annual Pay Range Maximum: $86,712.00 annual Other Compensation: - Benefits: For information about benefits for this position, visit Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Temporary or Regular?: This is a regular position FTE (Full-Time Equivalent): 100.00% Union/Bargaining Unit: Not Applicable About the UW Working at the University of Washington provides a unique opportunity to change lives on our campuses, in our state and around the world.
