Utility Worker I - Custodian

Salary: $16.24 Hourly Location : Goodlettsville, TN Job Type: PT Job Number: UW25 Department: Parks and Recreation Opening Date: 08/28/2025 Under general supervision of the Recreation Services Manager, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Delmas Long Community Center, other Recreation facilities as needed, and surrounding grounds. Work to create clean, orderly, and safe environment by performing a wide variety of cleaning and general maintenance on buildings as assigned. Clean workspaces and general areas of Recreation facilities by: maintaining floors in a clean state by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping; empty and clean trash receptacles and collect recycling; clean, sanitize, and supply restrooms; clean and service custodial equipment as needed; wash and clean windows as needed; sweep Delmas long parking lot; perform minor repairs on furniture, buildings, and equipment; report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to Recreation Services Manager or Assistant Director of Public Services; ensuring buildings are clean and orderly. Knowledge of the materials and equipment used in general maintenance and construction work; occupational hazards and safety precautions. A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduating from high school; self motivated, detail oriented, and time management skills; must be able to work on ladders, lift heavy items, and work in outdoor weather conditions; valid driver's license required; must pass drug screen by licensed physician.
