Job Description Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), where we deliver mission-critical applications for top-tier enterprises across the globe. At the Technical Strategy and Oversight (TSO) organization, we aim to enhance customer choice, transparency, and value concerning cloud infrastructure. We are launching bold new initiatives to innovate platforms, create high-performance primitives, develop frameworks for OCI developers, and establish a new container runtime to support a wide array of OCI services, particularly our demanding high-performance and high-availability offerings. Our efforts include developing core components for data planes through a data-plane runtime framework and a remote persistent storage solution that achieves local nVME drive-level latency and performance. We are also focused on setting standards and tools to identify critical performance improvements across OCI data-planes. We are excited to build a new OCI Performance team and seek a visionary engineering leader who can: Establish and cultivate the team from the ground up. Develop new KPIs for internal service teams that highlight and drive impact on the efficiency and availability of our services. Create innovative services and tools to deliver next-generation cloud services to our customers across diverse environments. We are searching for candidates who have built and operated high-scale cloud infrastructure services and understand the necessity for continuous technological improvements to drive business growth. You should possess experience with services that require compliance with data travel regulations and have successfully managed distributed multinational teams in delivering key public cloud services. You should be technically proficient, having worked on highly available, scalable, and resilient services. Balancing feature delivery with iterative improvements, you’ve made impactful changes for your engineering teams, motivating them towards enhancing both processes and services. Equipped to juggle roles as an engineering leader, product owner, and project manager, you are adept at driving results daily. Responsibilities: Craft the technical, product, operational, and organizational strategy for a public cloud service. Lead a diverse, distributed team effectively. Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and high professional standards. Communicate clearly with all levels of the organization, from engineers to executives. Stay updated on known vulnerabilities that could affect our cloud and customers, addressing them proactively. Guide and mentor teams through architecture and security assessments. Lead the implementation and verification of security features, enhancing platform security. Establish methodologies to drive ongoing improvement within the engineering organization through mentoring and coaching. Deliver impactful results consistently. Qualifications: At least 3+ years in a senior management role. 5+ years of experience with distributed systems or cloud services. BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Strong business acumen and exceptional communication skills. Outstanding leadership and people management capabilities. Experience with performance benchmarking and optimization tools and services. Comprehensive understanding of core cloud infrastructure, including compute, virtual networking, and storage. Robust distributed systems architecture and design expertise. Compensation: The salary range for this role in the US is from $118,300 to $251,600 per annum, potentially including bonus, equity, and deferred compensation.
