If you are passionate about making a significant difference in oncology, this role is your opportunity to lead with purpose. In this position, you will merge your clinical oncology expertise with a focus on value-based strategy and transformation. Unlike traditional medical review roles, this role integrates utilization management with collaborative engagement and innovation. Core Responsibilities Clinical Review & Peer Collaboration Act as the physician reviewer for oncology cases not meeting initial medical necessity criteria, employing evidence-based guidelines to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care. Support clinical reviewers as a subject matter expert and resource. Practice & Physician Engagement Engage with oncology practices, sharing best practices to promote the adoption of evidence-based pathways. Build trusted relationships with oncologists to encourage sustainable behavior change that improves patient outcomes. Support practice-level initiatives that minimize unwarranted variation and enhance quality. Internal Strategy & Value Initiatives Collaborate with clinical leadership to design, build, and execute new value initiatives in oncology. Contribute to innovation opportunities and models of care that support specialty care transformation. Work with operational and analytic teams to evaluate the impact of interventions and identify areas for continuous improvement. Participate in audits to ensure the accuracy of advance payment model payouts, aligning with clinical documentation and performance metrics. Compliance & Quality Ensure all reviews comply with URAC, NCQA, and internal quality standards. Document peer interactions and clinical decisions accurately and promptly. Participate in training and reliability processes. Qualifications MD/DO/MBBS with board certification in Medical Oncology or Pediatric Oncology. At least five (5) years of post-residency experience, with active clinical practice preferred within the last 2 years. Current, unrestricted medical license (multiple state licenses preferred or willingness to obtain). Demonstrated leadership in practice transformation, value-based care, or clinical quality improvement. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to influence physician behavior. Energetic, curious, and passionate about shaping the future of oncology care delivery. Not under sanction or exclusion from Medicare/Medicaid programs. To ensure a secure hiring process, we have implemented several identity verification steps, including submission of a government-issued photo ID during interviews. Candidates may also undergo a comprehensive background check, in-person verification, and drug screening prior to employment. The use of artificial intelligence tools during interviews is prohibited and monitored. Misrepresentation will result in immediate disqualification.
