In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our Blue Team operations, collaborating with Red Team and Cybersecurity professionals to enhance our cyber readiness and ensure system accreditation. Note: This position is contingent upon the award of a contract, anticipated in October of 2026. Clearance: An active Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position) is required. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required. Responsibilities: Conduct system hardening across various Operating System platforms. Evaluate and monitor system and network security in compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and tools. Utilize MITRE ATT&CK and/or MITRE D3FEND frameworks to enhance threat detection and response strategies. Perform advanced threat intelligence analysis to identify emerging threats and provide actionable recommendations. Conduct vulnerability assessments using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and other security tools. Analyze vulnerability findings and develop comprehensive remediation plans. Implement vendor patches and configuration changes to remediate vulnerabilities on both Linux and Windows operating systems. Design, implement, and enforce security controls across networks, hardware, and software components. Requirements: Deep understanding of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD cybersecurity policies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A minimum of ten (10) years of full-time professional experience across critical skillsets, including: System hardening on multiple OS platforms. Networking and virtualization. Application of DoD cybersecurity policies and tools. Experience with MITRE ATT&CK or MITRE D3FEND frameworks. Thorough threat intelligence assessments and identification of potential threats. Conducting vulnerability assessments with ACAS. Remediation of vulnerabilities through patching and configuration changes on Linux and Windows systems. Designing and implementing security controls on various components. Certifications: Possession of one of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications is preferred: CASP+ CE CCNP Security CISA CISSP (Associate) CISSP GCED GCIH CCSP Education: Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Compensation: The projected annual salary range for this role is $100,000 to $160,000, based on various factors including experience, education, and certifications. This estimate reflects the typical salary range for this role and is a part of the total compensation package offered by SimVentions.
