University Of Olivet Position This position provides exceptional customer service to students, staff, faculty, and administration of The University of Olivet. The successful candidate greets visitors to Student Services, answers general questions, directs constituents to the appropriate person, assists the Student Account Specialist, as it relates to student accounts and collections, and provides general support for work study and registration. Education and Experience The requirements listed below are representative of the education and experience necessary for an individual to perform the essential responsibilities satisfactorily: Required: Associate's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of one (1) year experience in an office at an administrative assistant level are required for this position. Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 3 years' experience in an office setting as an administrative assistant. Compensation This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt position with a competitive wage, comprehensive benefits package, with generous paid holiday and leave time. Tuition programs available. Responsibilities Greets visitors to student services. Directs/Assists constituents to proper personnel within Student Services, i.e. Financial Aid, Registrar. Manages the student ID card process and order supplies as needed. Assists with student billing/collection through phone calls, emails, etc. Receives and applies payments to student accounts. Receives and applies cash receipts from departments. Distributes work study, refund and reimbursement checks to students, staff, and faculty. Maintains cash drawer and receipts. Answers all incoming phone calls. Maintains and orders supplies for the office. Maintains a professional and welcoming office space and environment. Coordinates the bulletin boards inside and outside Student Services. Sorts and delivers incoming departmental mail. Manages mail that has been returned undeliverable. Provides exceptional customer service experiences for every visitor. Other duties as assigned. Accountabilities Direct/Assist students regarding financial aid, student account, registrar and works study questions. Accurately maintain the cash drawer. Provide assistance to the student account specialist, including billing, collections, and payment plans. Provide exceptional customer service experience for all visitors to Student Services. Manage phone system for the office. Manage schedules and appointments for student Services staff. Maintain a professional and welcoming environment in the Student Services center. Perform duties in a diverse, challenging and occasionally stressful environment. Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in an office environment. Hazards: Mainly those present in a normal office setting; no known hazards.
