Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs Hours: 48 hrs/wk Start Date: Mar 30, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a hospital-wide Float Pool (Nursing Resource Team) position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience across ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health settings. Details Hospital-wide float pool (Nursing Resource Team) serving ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health (Adult Acute, Youth Acute, and Addiction Recovery) service lines Unit bed count ranges from 21–35 beds depending on the assigned unit Patient ratios vary by unit: ICU 1:1–2, PCU 1:3–4, Med/Surg and ED-boarded Med/Surg 1:5–6, and Behavioral Health 1:5–6 days / 1:10 overnights Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation is required Equipment includes KBH/YA restraint boards and patient lifts 12-hour shifts, days (0700–1930) and nights (1900–0730), with schedule determined by unit needs Every other weekend required Mid-shift floating may be required based on unit needs Requirements Active RN license in Idaho or a Compact state currently in hand Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS Minimum of 3 years of experience across all of the following (experience may be concurrent): ER, ICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Behavioral Health/Psych (adult acute, youth acute, and addiction recovery) Experience with cardiac drips required Experience with non-invasive ventilation required Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program (BSN highly preferred) Department of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting required due to Behavioral Health floating 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years Additional Information Nurses float hospital-wide across multiple units and service lines and must maintain a high level of adaptability across all supported care areas NRT travelers receive a consistent schedule and are notified 2 hours prior to their shift of their assigned unit Several certifications and training modules are completed during general onboarding, including Restraint-C, MOAB 8-hour class, Boundaries 1-hour module, KBH/YA restraint board training, and lift training Navy blue scrubs required Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted American Traveler Job ID #P-680682.
