WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week. Group Summary: The Broadcast Scheduling department is responsible for creating the game and broadcast schedules for the NBA and its affiliate leagues (WNBA, NBA G League, 2K League), collaborating with a wide range of internal parties regarding league strategy, execution, and compliance with respect to various league agreements, directives, and regulations. The group is also integral members in large-scale projects such as the implementation of recent national media deals, the Emirates NBA Cup, and similar initiatives for its affiliate leagues, providing regular relevant contributions and analyses. Job Summary: This position is dedicated NBA Broadcast Scheduling department, with focuses on managing all aspects of scheduling and expertise in relevant elements of the sports and media businesses. The role will be responsible for quality assurance of key schedule information and distribution across the NBA, its affiliate leagues, and its broadcast and media partners. The analyst will also have a vital role in the Scheduling department's day-to-day workflow with other internal parties, teams, and partners, demonstrating an educated proficiency in the schedule and league agreements, obligations, regulations, and priorities. Major Responsibilities: Schedule Management (NBA & WNBA): Support creation and management of league schedules, including gathering data (arena availability, network/team preferences), coordinating workflows, managing timelines, and ensuring schedule goals are met. League Scheduling Leadership: Lead or co-lead scheduling for G League and Summer League; act as primary liaison with domestic national broadcast partners. New Media Scheduling: Serve as lead scheduler for Virtual Reality and immersive entertainment platforms in partnership with Content and Broadcasting teams. Database Management: Co-manage official game and broadcast schedule details (times, locations, TV/radio) in the league's internal database, ensuring accuracy across all platforms. Broadcast Coordination: Act as primary contact for Global Media Operations and Media Planning; update partners on new schedules and manage database changes. NBA League Pass: Create and distribute League Pass schedules and updates to distributors and internal teams to ensure accurate game availability. Schedule Documentation: Maintain and distribute official schedule materials; manage archival of historical scheduling data. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Broadcasting, Digital, and Content teams on schedule changes, new broadcasters, and workflow updates. Software Proficiency: Develop expertise in proprietary NBA scheduling software for game creation and communication management. Strategic Input: Contribute to scheduling strategies that optimize viewership, team KPIs, and stakeholder equity. Contractual Compliance: Understand national TV agreements and league rules; research and interpret precedents and contractual parameters. Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with league agreements; support updates for new requirements and initiatives. Audience Measurement: Stay informed on audience metrics (Nielsen ratings, digital analytics) and emerging measurement methodologies. Telecast & Game Formats: Build competency in broadcast and game format standards. Industry Awareness: Monitor trends in sports and media through news, networking, and industry developments. Required Education/Relevant Experience: Bachelor's Degree 1-2 years of working experience in professional sports or sports media Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes: Proficiency in MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Word Expert proficiency in MS Excel preferred (analytical formulas, formatting, VBA, etc) Data analytics and optimization experience preferred High level of attention to detail, even when multi-tasking Highly effective verbal and written communicator In-depth knowledge of NBA, NBA Affiliate Leagues and other Major Sports leagues Employees currently are eligible to receive an annual discretionary performance bonus, awarded at the sole discretion of the Company and subject to any terms and conditions set by the Company.
