Job DescriptionAbout the Role Join Our Team as an IT Infrastructure Vice President - Managing Critical Data Center Operations for a high end mid-sized Financial Institution. Are you a seasoned IT Infrastructure leader with deep hands-on expertise in data center and enterprise infrastructure management within the financial sector? We are seeking a strategic and driven IT Infrastructure Vice President to oversee, optimize, and innovate our local NY data center and co-location infrastructure. This critical role offers the opportunity to ensure the stability, security, and compliance of our core banking operations. This mid-sized financial institution is seeking a technically hands-on VP of IT Infrastructure to lead enterprise server, virtualization, and data center operations in a regulated banking environment. This is a working leadership role - you will manage a small engineering team while remaining deeply involved in architecture, engineering decisions, and complex escalations. This is a full-time direct hire role working hybrid onsite 2-3 days per week in Midtown Manhattan with an organization that offers competitive compensation, the salary range for the role is $150,000-165,000 per year, an annual bonus, and a great benefits package. Key Responsibilities Oversee on-prem and co-location data centers, disaster recovery, and continuity planning Lead infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrations - on time and within budget Direct vendor relationships, contracts, SLAs, and third-party risk management Ensure configuration, asset, inventory, and license governance Maintain compliance with OCC and FFIEC regulatory expectations Support audits, regulatory exams, and executive reporting Own infrastructure strategy, architecture, and multi-year modernization roadmap Provide 3rd-level engineering oversight Required Skills 8+ years of progressive experience managing IT infrastructure within financial institutions or similarly regulated environments Minimum of 3+ years in an IT leadership role supervising vendors, contractors, and managed service providers Strong background in data center operations, capacity planning, server projects, and enterprise upgrades including experience with: Overseeing system capacity planning, performance monitoring, and infrastructure optimization Leading server projects, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring timely delivery aligned with business priorities and budgets Managing local data center and co-location facilities, ensuring operational resilience, redundancy, and disaster recovery readiness Proven experience in vendor negotiations, third-party risk management, and infrastructure governance Excellent communication skills for engaging with executives, auditors, regulators, and technical teams Experience with banking compliance standards and regulatory audits Knowledge of disaster recovery, redundancy, and business continuity planning Maintain governance over hardware assets, configuration standards, licenses, and inventory management Nice-to-Have Skills Certifications such as ITIL, Vendor Risk Management, or related fields Familiarity with cloud infrastructure or hybrid data center environments Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Extensive experience working in a banking or highly regulated financial environment Proven leadership in managing complex infrastructure projects and external partnerships Additional Requirements Proven ability to support regulatory exams, audits, and risk assessments Strong understanding of IT controls, security policies, and compliance standards
