The City of Topeka's Housing Services division is seeking a dedicated social services professional to serve as a Program Coordinator for the Impact Avenues program. This is a fast-paced, intensive position that provides case management and support services for clients who are eligible for assistance through the McKinney-Vento Program as well as crisis intervention services for clients referred to the Equipping Center. What you'll do: Provide full-cycle, monthly case management services to Impact Avenues clients. Case management lasts for twelve months per family with approximately 40 cases at a time. Provide education to families on skillsets in regard to employment skills, budgeting, finance, and housing navigation. Collaborate with 40+ partner agencies in the community with weekly resource events. Advocate with a sense of urgency as a backbone organization to provide families with crisis intervention and wrap around services for long-term housing stability goals. The ideal candidate has: Experience in case management A passion for community engagement Strong interpersonal skills with an aptitude for coalition building, social media and marketing Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work or human services with one to three years of case management experience OR Without a bachelor's degree, a high school diploma or its equivalent is required with three or more years of case management experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license and must be insurable within the standards set by the City of Topeka's insurance carrier.
