Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to all safety policies and procedures consistently. Conduct thorough layout inspections using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and CMM to confirm that products meet specifications. Identify reference points on parts and measure angles, arcs, and radii with precision measuring instruments and aids. Carry out inspections on structural steel, welds, and related areas, and prepare detailed inspection reports as necessary. Perform NDE inspections, as qualified, in accordance with SNT-TC-1A standards, including Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic Testing, and Visual Inspections. Interpret customer specifications and read technical drawings to ensure examinations meet set requirements. Follow established testing procedures, ensuring accurate performance and clear documentation of results. Visually compare components to detect variations in manufacturing processes. Assist in training operators on weld visual acceptability and measurement procedures. Report quality issues to the Quality Control Manager and ensure that corrective actions are implemented. Maintain inspection records, create lists of defects, and collaborate with other departments for compliance and acceptance of parts. Accurately document all rejected parts. Conduct internal quality audits to assess compliance with standards and implement necessary corrective actions. Work with vendors to resolve defect issues. Keep the workspace and equipment clean and organized while performing all tasks safely and according to procedures. Willingness to work rotating Saturdays (approximately 4 hours). Desired Skills Proficient in interpreting blueprints. Strong foundation in basic math, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Flexibility to adapt to plant production schedules. A minimum of one-year experience with computers and measuring instruments. CMM operation and programming skills are a plus. Hold Level II qualification in at least three Nondestructive Testing methods (PT, MT, VT, UT). Ability to document required training and certification hours. Education and Experience Technical degree preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Visual acuity to closely inspect parts and ensure they meet standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate or higher computer skills. A valid driver's license is required for occasional travel to vendor locations. Physical Demands Ability to operate overhead cranes or forklifts may be necessary, as well as the capacity to lift up to 50 lbs. Job duties require standing, walking, and reaching. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
