Job Description Construction Project Manager - Data Centers Northern California (San Jose) Full-Time | Field-Based About the Role We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of mission-critical data center projects across the Northern California region. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of data center construction-from early due diligence and permitting through design, construction, commissioning, and final handover to operations. This position is primarily field-based and requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex construction efforts involving high-voltage electrical infrastructure and mission-critical systems. Key Responsibilities Manage ground-up data center construction projects from site due diligence through commissioning and turnover Lead permitting and entitlement processes with local and state agencies Manage architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and utility coordination Develop and manage construction budgets, schedules, cash flows, and cost reporting Oversee contractor performance, safety compliance, and quality control Negotiate contracts, change orders, and construction-related agreements Coordinate tenant improvements, phased turnovers, and occupied-site work Support procurement and coordination of mission-critical equipment Lead commissioning processes and transition completed projects to operations Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety standards, and regulations Identify cost-saving opportunities through innovative construction methods Serve as a safety leader for all on-site activities Support due diligence for future development opportunities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering field (preferred) 8+ years of construction and real estate development experience 4+ years managing data center or mission-critical construction projects Proven experience with substations, switching stations, and high-voltage systems Strong knowledge of data center MEP systems, commissioning, and electrical topologies Experience with permitting, governmental approvals, and utility coordination Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Bluebeam; Yardi preferred Strong budgeting, scheduling, and cost control experience Experience negotiating contracts and managing change orders Understanding of construction law and contract administration Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills Valid driver's license OSHA 10/30 certification a plus Spanish bilingual skills a plus Why Join Us Lead high-profile data center projects in a fast-growing market Work on cutting-edge, mission-critical infrastructure Collaborate with experienced professionals across engineering, construction, and operations Opportunity to influence project outcomes from concept through completion
