Description Scott Enterprises, Inc. is a commercial roofing and sheet metal contractor based in Omaha. Our Business is growing, and we need your help as we continue to grow! Job Overview: The Controller will be responsible for the following: Produce timely monthly financial statements and operational reporting analysis Manage all aspects of the general ledger Assist in developing internal controls and policies Understanding of sales and use tax for Nebraska Experienced in State and Federal payroll tax fillings Oversee all Accounting modules (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Collections) Strong understanding of Job cost accounting and cash flow management Assist in managing health insurance programs for a self-insured employer Understanding of GAAP Perform general ledger reconciliations Preform month end closing Assist with budgeting and forecasting procedures Oversee all aspects of the general ledger and cash management Reconciles monthly bank statements Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports. Assists the General Manager in preparing the budget and enters departmental budgets according to established guidelines. Experienced working with multiple profit centers Responds to inquiries. Checks accounting transactions to locate and resolve discrepancies. Assists in the preparation of schedules for the annual tax ntinually seek efficiencies in processes Train, coach, develop and evaluate current and future members of the accounting staff Proven track record of building a team proficient in creating reports for management to analyze data. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting 5 + years of experience in accounting 2+ years of experience in a controller role 5+ years of experience in managing people and building teams Prefer someone with construction accounting experience Sage accounting software experience a big plus Effective and professional oral and written communication Embrace new ideas as well as change Positive, hands-on attitude Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively Strong desire to lead We offer competitive pay based on experience and industry leading benefits!
