About the Role: We are searching for talented engineers across various disciplines (Product, Full-Stack, Backend, Applied AI/LLM) to drive innovation and expand our product offerings. In this dynamic, collaborative environment, your impactful contributions will be essential in refining our technology for thousands of users. This founding engineering position grants you substantial ownership and the opportunity to influence the future of healthcare. Your Responsibilities: Design and develop robust development and production platforms to ensure reliability and security at scale. Lead the end-to-end creation of user-facing generative AI features and engaging product experiences. Collaborate with researchers, engineers, product managers, and designers to turn innovative features and research into tangible products. Boost engineering productivity by providing your team members with effective tools and systems. Contribute to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture that encourages open communication and challenges conventional thinking. Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure the reliability of our systems and respond to critical incidents as necessary. You Will Succeed If You: Bring over 5 years of engineering experience in product-focused companies. Have proficiency in TypeScript/React for the frontend and Python for the backend, with a passion for learning new technologies. Thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious startup setting, taking ownership of your initiatives. Possess significant experience in designing, building, and scaling production systems to meet growing demands. Are committed to creating exceptional user experiences that meet customer needs. Keep abreast of the latest advancements in AI and LLM technology and are excited about its potential. Exhibit humility, teamwork, and a commitment to supporting colleagues for collective success. Proactively tackle challenges and are eager to learn new skills. Build tools to streamline workflows proactively, choosing customized solutions only when necessary. Experience in startup environments, as a founder or early-stage engineer is a plus. Familiarity with healthcare systems, EHR, HIPAA, or other regulatory frameworks is an added bonus. Tech Stack: LLMs: OpenAI & similar Backend: Python, Django, Postgres Frontend: React, TypeScript Infrastructure: GCP, Docker Data/AI: ELT+RAG setup for specialist user queries sourced from our extensive medical article database. Interview Process: Initial background/light technical interview (45 mins) Live coding challenge (1 hr) Final interview: System design problem + realistic work simulation challenge (live; ~ 1.5-2 hrs) Salary Range: $120,000 - $210,000 per year. Base salary for hybrid roles in San Francisco (minimum 2 days in-office) is $180,000 - $210,000 annually, with remote roles subjected to location adjustments. Equity options range from 0.5% - 1.0%.
