Position: Controller Location: New Haven County (Full-Time | Onsite) Reports To: CEO Compensation: $130,000 + strong, reliable bonus plan We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Controller to lead all accounting and finance operations for a well-established, privately held manufacturing company on the shoreline in New Haven County. This is a high-impact role for a manufacturing finance professional who enjoys being close to the business—owning the numbers, partnering with operations, and driving profitability through strong cost accounting, inventory oversight, and financial leadership. What You’ll Do As Controller, you will oversee the full finance function while providing strategic insight and financial discipline across the organization. Key Responsibilities Lead the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process Oversee all accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets Manage accurate and timely month-end and year-end close and reporting Own all areas of manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis Partner with leadership to improve profitability, cost controls, and operational performance Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit/tax support Drive enhancements in ERP systems, reporting tools, and process improvement Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team as the company grows What We’re Looking For 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Strong background in manufacturing or inventory-based accounting Expertise in cost accounting, inventory controls, and operational finance Experience supporting leadership in a small to mid-sized, privately held company Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on in execution CPA and/or public accounting experience is a plus Why Join Us This is more than a traditional Controller role—it’s an opportunity to become a core member of the leadership team and help drive the company forward.
