This role offers an opportunity for a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to deliver specialized respiratory care in a critical illness and rehabilitation setting. The ideal candidate will provide intensive respiratory treatments and patient transport with minimal supervision, ensuring patient safety and comfort within the professional scope of practice. Key Responsibilities: Assess patients and develop appropriate respiratory treatment plans. Educate patients on treatment procedures and post-discharge care. Administer physician-prescribed therapies including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and nebulizer use. Perform chest physiotherapy and various suctioning techniques. Monitor oxygen saturation and capnography per protocol. Conduct basic diagnostic procedures such as 12-lead EKGs, pulmonary function tests, and chest x-ray reviews. Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy and chest tube placement. Maintain and operate ventilatory equipment, ensuring proper setup and preventive maintenance. Document all patient care activities and communicate effectively with healthcare teams. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS standards. Handle laboratory specimen processing relevant to respiratory care as needed. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). Proficient in ventilator management and respiratory intervention techniques. Strong knowledge of respiratory equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to perform emergency airway management including intubations. Competent in patient education and interdisciplinary communication. Adherence to healthcare standards and safety protocols.
