Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking a Commercial Refrigeration Lead Service Technician in Tampa, FL to oversee service operations, mentor technicians, and deliver expert troubleshooting for commercial refrigeration systems. Impact • Maximize customer uptime by diagnosing and resolving complex refrigeration issues quickly • Drive service excellence through technical leadership and training of junior technicians • Strengthen client relationships with professional service delivery and proactive solutions • Improve operational efficiency by implementing best practices across service teams Responsibilities • Lead service calls for commercial refrigeration systems including walk-ins, reach-ins, and display cases • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related issues using advanced troubleshooting methods • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and system retrofits on customer equipment • Mentor and train junior technicians on technical skills and customer service standards • Coordinate with service management on scheduling, parts procurement, and project planning • Communicate directly with customers to explain findings, recommendations, and repair options • Ensure compliance with EPA regulations for refrigerant handling and recovery • Maintain accurate service records, time tracking, and equipment documentation • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service requests Requirements Must-Haves • 7+ years of commercial refrigeration service experience with proven technical expertise • EPA Universal certification required • Strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems, controls, and electrical troubleshooting • Excellent customer service and communication skills • Valid driver's license and clean driving record • Ability to work independently and lead field teams effectively Nice-to-Haves • HVAC Excellence or RSES certification • Experience with supermarket or industrial refrigeration systems • Familiarity with CO2, ammonia, or other alternative refrigerant systems • Manufacturer-specific training certifications (Copeland, Danfoss, Emerson, etc.) Call to Action If you're ready to advance your career in mechanical construction, apply today or connect with us to learn more.
