Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description Operates and transports passengers in buses and vans along fixed routes and schedules in varying weather conditions. Provides customer service and assists patrons when necessary. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others. Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be consideredEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent. 1 year of related experience. Licenses or CertificationsCommercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement and no airbrake restriction. Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this positionKnowledge of:Assigned routes. Relevant laws and regulations pertaining to motor vehicles, Federal Transportation Administration (FTA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), public works, and transit policies and procedures. Defensive driving and accident prevention, Skill in:Operating fleet vehicles and equipment. Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience. Applying active listening and asking questions for understanding. Ability to:Handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure and maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems Provide high levels of effective customer service. County money and make change. To prepare and write basic reports. We have full 8 hour shifts and split shifts available. Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with the opportunity for overtime. The starting salary is a minimum of $20.95 - $21.37 per hour plus a shift differential of $1.00 per hour for any hours worked from 6:00 pm - 6:00 am.
