As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Innovation Manager to join our team and drive our people strategy forward. As our Innovation Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the company's coordination and management of the movement of goods, materials, and information throughout the supply chain. This role ensures timely, cost-effective, and accurate delivery while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities and Duties: Leadership: Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment that supports teamwork and company values. Inbound Operations: Oversee unloading of inbound shipments using forklifts or other material-handling equipment. Ensure received materials are verified against purchase orders, packing slips, and system records. Inspect inbound goods for damage, shortages, or nonconformance and ensure discrepancies are documented and resolved. Ensure materials are labeled, scanned, and stored in assigned locations following established procedures. Ensure accurate entry of receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS). Confirm all inbound deliveries meet company specifications, SQF standards, and regulatory requirements. Outbound Operations: Supervise picking, staging, and loading of outbound orders according to shipping schedules and pick lists. Ensure product quantities, accuracy, and condition prior to shipment. Ensure forklifts and material-handling equipment are used safely and efficiently during loading operations. Ensure products are properly packed, palletized, and shrink-wrapped; boxes, crates, and pallets meet required specifications. Review shipping documentation to confirm all components and loose items are properly packaged for safe, on-time delivery. Ensure outbound documentation, labels, and system transactions are completed accurately and timely. Update shipment and inventory records to reflect outbound activity. Inventory Control & Warehouse Management: Maintain responsibility for supply chain compliance with contractual, food safety, and regulatory requirements. Verify inventory is correct in ERP and document changes. Ensure proper storage, identification, and rotation of materials using FIFO principles to minimize waste. Perform and oversee cycle counts and physical inventories in coordination with Supply Chain and Operations teams. Research, resolve, and document inventory discrepancies. Ensure accurate, current electronic records for all inbound and outbound inventory transactions. Optimize warehouse space utilization and ensure housekeeping standards are consistently maintained. Shipping, Transportation & Documentation: Review weekly inbound and outbound requirements and schedule receipts and shipments to maximize efficiency and capacity. Tender freight in accordance with budget guidelines and transportation requirements. Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documentation including packing lists, bills of lading, commercial invoices, customs documentation, and small-parcel shipments (UPS/FedEx). Perform inbound and outbound shipping operations including scheduling, packaging, labeling, and documentation preparation. Track shipments daily to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. Assist in resolving shipment delays, damages, shortages, or other transportation issues. Serve as a backup to the Logistics Manager by independently performing shipping, documentation, and coordination duties. Equipment, Safety & Compliance: Ensure forklifts and material-handling equipment are operated safely and assist with preventive maintenance programs. Conduct basic equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety issues promptly. Ensure warehouses, docks, and shipping/receiving areas operate safely and are free from hazards. Enforce OSHA requirements and company safety policies. Promote a proactive safety culture and take corrective action when unsafe or non-compliant behaviors are observed. Oversee sanitation and cleaning activities for receiving, storage, staging, and shipping areas to maintain compliance and organization. Ensure compliance with DOT, SQF, and all applicable regulatory standards. Systems, Documentation & Technology: Utilize handheld scanners, tablets, digital cameras, and warehouse systems to collect, record, and verify shipping and receiving data. Maintain accurate electronic documentation supporting inventory accuracy, compliance audits, and operational reporting. Ensure shipping and receiving data such as weights, measurements, pallet dimensions, and shipment details are accurate and current. Qualifications: College degree is preferred but combination of college work and experience will be considered. 2 or more years' experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) 2 or more years' experience with ERP systems; preferably Microsoft Dynamics Experience with inbound and outbound warehouse operations Knowledge of inventory control and logistics processes Strong attention to detail and accuracy Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating a box truck required 2 or more years' experience operating a forklift Strong computer and data entry skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment Good communication and organizational skills Benefits: Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
