Job Description

Software Engineer II for Sparta Systems, Inc. in Hamilton, NJResponsibilities: Design and implement enterprise-level backend microservices and RESTful APIs using Java or Python. Leverage object-oriented design patterns and modern architectural principles, including event-driven and serverless computing, to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance solutions. Develop and maintain user interface components for enterprise applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React and TypeScript to ensure a seamless user experience. Analyze complex user and business requirements in collaboration with product managers, data scientists and system architects to translate them into detailed technical specifications and robust system designs. Implement and maintain high-performance data processing pipelines and diverse database solutions. Proficient in both relational (SQL) and nonrelational (NoSQL) databases, with specialized experience in using Elasticsearch to enable complex data indexing, real-time search, and advanced analytics. Conduct thorough code reviews for peers to maintain high standards of code quality, ensure adherence to established architectural patterns, and promote software development best practices within the team. Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, including unit, integration, and system tests, to validate software functionality and ensure system reliability and performance. Leverage cloud platform services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to build, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications, utilizing containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects and production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions to enhance system stability. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for software systems, including design specifications and API documentation, to support development and maintenance activities. YOU MUST HAVE: Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related software development occupation. Must have 2 years of experience with the following: designing and developing backend services using object-oriented languages such as Java or Python; developing front-end applications or components using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React; building and maintaining RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture; utilizing cloud services(such as AWS, Azure, GCP) for application deployment and management; working with both SQL and NoSQL databases, utilizing the ELK Stack for NoSQL data storage, indexing, and complex queries; designing and implementing applications using serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) and event-driven patterns; using containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes; applying Agile development methodologies and using version control systems like Git. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Location: Hamilton, NJ Salary range: $120,000 - $149,000/year 40 hours/week Employee Referral Fee: $1500 If offered employment must have legal right to work in U.S. EOE.
