We are seeking a Director of Finance to lead and execute the company's financial reporting, accounting, and planning functions. This is a hands-on rolereporting directly to the President, with regular interaction with executive leadership and the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate is comfortable rolling up their sleeves while also operating at a strategic level. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Reporting Own the preparation and presentation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the President and Board of Directors Lead financial reporting for both Commercial and Defense business units, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with all applicable requirements Serve as a trusted financial advisor to executive leadership, providing clear insights and recommendations Accounting & Close Process (Hands-On) Lead and actively participate in the monthly close process, including: Account reconciliations Journal entries Financial statement preparation Ensure all financial reporting complies with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and regulatory requirements Continuously improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation Planning, Forecasting & Analysis Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial models Analyze and report on variances, trends, and key performance drivers Provide financial analysis to support: Capital investment decisions Pricing strategies Contract negotiations Controls, Compliance & Audit Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures Support external audits, including preparation of schedules and audit documentation Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements Performance Metrics & Business Insight Monitor financial and operational performance metrics Recommend benchmarks and KPIs to measure and improve company performance Translate complex financial data into actionable business insights Leadership & Collaboration Partner closely with operations, engineering, and business unit leaders Provide guidance and mentorship as the finance function evolves Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills & Abilities Strong executive-level communication and presentation skills, including Board interaction Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities Deep understanding of accounting, financial reporting, and financial operations Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite Experience with financial and accounting systems Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience preferred High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles Demonstrated experience owning financial close, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting Experience preparing financial materials for executive leadership and Boards of Directors Experience in a private equity-backed or closely held company strongly preferred CPA or CMA designation preferred Benefits Overview Competitive salary Paid time off including vacation days and holidays Healthcare, dental, vision, and life insurance plans Company 401(k) contribution Equal Opportunity Employer Munro & Associates is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, national origin, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
